Workday Learning Transition Information
Workday Learning is Live! Users that had accounts created for them should have received email instructions on October 15. For assistance, please email us at LibContEd@iowa.gov
Note that the link to create a Workday Learning account is different than the login link! We'll do our best to advertise that fact:
Create/Activate a Workday Learning Account
Login to an existing Workday Learning Account
Once you successfully log in and navigate to the “Learning” app, you’ll see different work areas to select from:
- The My Learning area will display any enrollments from the Webinar Archive that were transferred for you.
- The Discover area allows you to browse and search the continuing education catalog and enroll in live or recorded courses.
- The Links area includes links to view your completed credit hours and hours earned towards your next endorsement renewal.
- On your Profile (accessed by the picture in the top right) you should also see your most recent endorsement information.
The day after you create your account, you’ll also receive an invitation to complete some information on your profile. You will also receive a notification about a course assigned to you that includes some Workday Learning navigation basics. If you search the available courses for “Using Workday Learning” you’ll find other helpful resources.
FAQs
How will I login to Workday Learning the first time?
Those who previously had an IA Learns account will have a Workday Learning account created for them and will receive login instructions on October 15. You will need to enter your name and email address to set up a permanent password to access your account.
What if I need to create a new account?
You can create a new account using the link below. Note that you will need a unique email address to complete this process. Attempting to use any email address already in use in Workday Learning will result in an error during the account creation process.
What will I see when I first login?
Head to the "Learning" area of Workday to see any enrollments from the Webinar Archive that were transferred for you. On your profile (accessed by the picture in the top right) you should also see your most recent endorsement information. Partial progress through the endorsement program will be reflected on your account before the end of October.
What about the External CE Requests I submitted during the downtime?
We have added external CE credit hours for anyone who had an activated account. You should have received a message if we could not find an activated account for you. Questions about activating your account? Reach out to LibContEd@iowa.gov.
Going forward, continue to submit external CE requests using the form you always have!
What help guides are available for navigating Workday Learning?
The Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) has put together some basic guides, which can be accessed on the DAS website.
The day after a you activate your account, you will receive a notification about a course assigned to you that includes some Workday Learning navigation basics.
You can also sign in to Workday, head to the "Learning App," then click "Discover," and "Browse Learning" to search for courses with the title "Using Workday Learning." Due to contractual obligations, many of our help documentation must live behind the Workday Learning login.
Why is there information related to Mandatory Reporters on this site?
Because we are now sharing our learning system with many state government departments, you will see some courses and reports related to mandatory reporters. In your role working in a library, you are NOT considered a mandatory reporter. However, we are unable to exclude mandatory courses and reports from our part of the system.
If someone working in a library holds another job that requires them to maintain a mandatory reporter certificate, they may do that using these courses.
How can I see the hours I've earned?
Once you sign in, and click on the "Learning" app, you'll see two reports under links (along the left).
- Clicking Library All Completed Hours will show you all the hours you've earned in both Workday and the old IA Learns system
- Clicking Library Endorsement Tracker will prompt you to enter the date your Endorsement was issued (this information can be found on your profile) and will provide you a count of all hours earned since that date.
What if I want to start a new Endorsement or continue on with a partially-completed Endorsement?
Endorsement program courses are in testing right now, and will be ready for you to start (or continue) before the end of the month.
