IA Learns Transitioning to Workday Learning in August

Workday Learning News Item Graphic (500 x 500 px).pngToday the Continuing Education team announced that IA Learns, the State Library’s learning management system for continuing education courses and the Endorsement program, is transitioning to a new platform next month.

Starting in August, everything librarians used to do in IA Learns will be done in the new platform called Workday Learning. This includes the following:

  • Enrolling in live courses (Zoom webinars or in person)
  • Viewing and completing webinar archive courses
  • Completing Endorsement Program coursework
  • Tracking endorsements
  • Tracking hours earned toward endorsement renewal

Workday learning features a cleaner look and easier user experience. State Library staff have been working behind the scenes to prep for the transition.

Currently, librarians do not need to take any action. Current IA Learns account holders will have new accounts created in Workday Learning. Login instructions will be sent in early August.

If librarians wish, they can review current enrollments in IA Learns and cancel any enrollments they do not wish to see transferred to the new system. IA Learns users that are part way through any courses may want to finish them up by July 31. Enrollments will be transferred to the new system, but partial viewings are not able to be tracked and will not transfer over to Workday Learning.

More details will be shared in the coming weeks. Review the FAQ page linked below for additional information about the change; questions can also be directed to the CE Team via email at LibContEd@Iowa.gov.
