Simpson College has an immediate opening for the part-time Acquisitions & Access Services Manager.
Broad Function/Job Summary:
Manage acquisitions of library materials and accounting records with general direction. Manage schedules and payment of student work-study employees with general direction.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Acquisitions
Order library materials, receive, and resolve receipt issues.
Order equipment and oversee maintenance & repair.
Order and inventory supplies
Add items to WMS, catalog & process for library use.
Delete library materials from WMS as needed.
Accounting
Utilize the financial system to request and track POs for material acquisition.
Prepare invoices, requisitions, and deposits for the business office.
Track expenditures and utilize financial reports on the WMS acquisitions module.
Reconcile credit card payments for the business office.
Create and manage accounts in Excel and balance with the SCConnect budget line.
Send material budget reports to faculty. Access Services
Access Services
Collaborate with the financial aid office to employ 30+ student work-study employees.
Schedule, track, and approve access services student worker hours utilizing student listserv, text messaging, email, and phone calls.
Resolve inquiries regarding system-generated overdue notices.
Bill students and open-access patrons for overdue library materials, and send information to the business office
Perform other duties as assigned, including initiating work orders for building maintenance.
Qualifications:
Strong service orientation and people skills to communicate effectively.
Ability to be a team member, supporting department and college goals, policies, and procedures.
Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to maintain a consistent workflow.
Demonstrate understanding and use of various software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases) and ability to troubleshoot software/hardware problems with some assistance.
Extended viewing of monitors.
Knowledge of bookkeeping.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of patron and library records.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Undergraduate degree.
