The Delhi Public Library is seeking applicants for the position of Library Director. The position is 20 hours/week with a $18-20 hourly wage based on qualifications. Must be proficient in technology, work well with the public, have good management skills, and be motivated to continue growth initiatives within the library. Experience working with children is also a plus. Must attain State Library Director Endorsement within 2 years of hire.
The primary responsibilities of the director include but are not limited to:
Implement the policies of the Board of Trustees.
Select and order books and other library material.
Develop and maintain programs within the library.
Catalog and process library materials.
Prepare annual reports for the board, city, county, region, and state.
Keep all records of library operations.
Attend board meetings, city council meetings, county meetings and continuing education classes.
Oversee the assets of the library.
Maintain the conduct of the patrons of the library.
Remain current and knowledgeable about the library and appropriate methods of operation.
Delhi is a small vibrant town located near the Maquoketa River and scenic Lake Delhi. The downtown is thriving with a local restaurant, coffee shop, butcher shop, lumberyard, thrift store, and ag store. Delhi is home to the Maquoketa Valley Wildcats.
