The Pleasant Hill Public Library is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time Youth Services Librarian.
The Youth Services Librarian coordinates and implements programs, outreach, and services for children, teens, and their caregivers; manages collection development for children's and teen materials; and provides quality reference, readers' advisory, and other library services to all patrons. This position collaborates with and provides day-to-day supervision of the Youth Outreach Specialist. The Youth Services Librarian reports to the Library Director.
To be considered, a Bachelor's degree in early childhood development, education, or a related field is required. A Master of Library and Information Sciences degree preferred. Candidates should also have two or more years of public library experience with increasing responsibilities, particularly in youth services. Supervisory experience preferred. Must have or acquire State of Iowa Library Youth Services Endorsement within one year of hire.

They will be organized, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional growth, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Successful candidates will foster collaboration, provide welcoming and customer-focused service, uphold the library’s mission and values, and represent the library and City professionally in the community.
The salary range is $71,798.39 - $98,261.06. The city offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes, medical, dental, vision and life insurance, IPERS and a 457b plan.
