SUPERVISOR: Director of the Academic Center
BASIC FUNCTION: Provide library services to NCC’s customers and to assist the Director of the Academic Center in the day-to-day operation of the library.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required – Bachelor’s degree.
Computer proficiency.
Preferred – Library degree and/or library experience
Bilingual in English and Spanish languages.

1. Demonstrated ability to assess library patrons’ needs and deliver appropriate services, programs, and instructional support.
2. Strong knowledge of library reference resources, systems, and services.
3. Thorough understanding of the principles and best practices of library operations, including the use of computerized library systems.

5. Proficiency with computers and common software applications, including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing programs.
6. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
7. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
8. Ability to supervise, train, and support staff effectively.
9. Ability to plan and deliver engaging group presentations and instruction.
10. Availability to work afternoon and evening shifts.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide reference services and support students, faculty, staff, and community members in developing information literacy skills through formal and informal instruction, including group presentations.
2. Perform copy cataloging of library materials in accordance with established standards and practices.
3. Assist with the selection, evaluation, processing, and ongoing maintenance of library collections, including inventory and weeding.
4. Support interlibrary loan services, including processing requests and maintaining required statistics for reporting purposes.
5. Assist with the development, implementation, and use of library assessment tools; collect, maintain, and report statistical data for planning and assessment.
6. Recommend and help implement policies, procedures, and best practices to improve library operations and services.
7. Oversee patron use of library spaces to maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.
8. Train, schedule, and supervise student employees, providing guidance in library operations and customer service.
9. Assist with the day-to-day operations of the library, including general library duties and other responsibilities as assigned.
10. Maintain inventory of office and library supplies and reorder materials as necessary.
11. Participate in professional development activities, including workshops and seminars, to maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills.
12. Engage in the college community by serving on committees and participating in campus initiatives, as appropriate.
13. Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Learning Center, providing support for instructional activities, student needs, and testing as required.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Library Services.
WAGE/SALARY RANGE: Dependent on education and experience
