Winnefox Library System, based in Oshkosh WI, is looking for an innovative and organized individual to get passionately involved in library system work in support of small to mid-size public libraries. This position requires significant people skills as well as an analytical mindset that loves technology. The ILS Specialist reports to the ILS Manager and works closely with staff at member libraries to provide support for Winnefox’s most crucial service – the shared library automation system.
Duties:
The ILS Specialist is responsible for training on, and troubleshooting, various aspects of the shared SirsiDynix Symphony library automation system. These include BLUEcloud products, Workflows client software, the online catalog, the mobile app, reporting from command line database queries as well as online reporting software and other specialized library-related software. Qualifications:
Accredited degree in Library Science or Information Technology, Masters preferred
At least 1-year experience working in a library environment
Excellent writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in multi-faceted training (in-person, group, online, etc)
A desire to inspire and facilitate member library success
Proficiency in MS Office Suite—Especially Excel, but also Word and PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive
Willing and able to drive to member libraries, and occasionally perform emergency tasks during off hours
Preferred:
Experience configuring library software and/or database maintenance
Experience scripting Perl, PHP
Statistical reporting knowledge
This is a full-time, exempt position. While primarily an in-office position there are telecommuting options. Candidates will be required to live or relocate to within an hour’s drive of Oshkosh Public Library to attend in-person meetings and events. Candidates are expected to work well with a collaborative and dedicated system team. This position includes a flexible schedule, retirement program, and health and dental insurance through the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds. Salary range: $58,000-$68,000
