Now Hiring: Children’s Librarian (Part-Time – 20-25 hrs/week)
Bertha Bartlett Public Library – Story City, Iowa
Are you passionate about inspiring young minds and creating joyful, educational experiences for children? Do you love stories, creativity, and making a difference in your community? Then come join our team at the newly expanded and renovated Bertha Bartlett Public Library!
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, imaginative, and energetic Children’s Librarian to lead story times, Wednesday after-school programs, and summer reading fun for children ages 0–11.
What You’ll Do:
• Plan and lead story times that captivate young listeners
• Design and host after-school and summer reading programs full of learning and fun
• Work with children of all abilities, fostering an inclusive environment
• Collaborate with staff to create a welcoming, playful, and educational library experience
• Use (or be willing to learn) computers and library systems to support programming and communication
• Work directly with patrons checking out materials and using materials
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience teaching or working with children, especially ages 0–11
• A creative spirit and a love for engaging young learners
• A team player with strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfort with technology, or willingness to learn
• Ability to create inclusive, age-appropriate programming
Details:
• Part-time: 25 hours per week
• Schedule includes Wednesday and Friday mornings, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and some Saturdays. 
• Pay based on experience. We do offer IPERS.
