Job Opportunities

Under the general direction of the Head of Youth Services, coordinates and assists with youth programs, specifically the summer reading program. Participates in library outreach activities related to the summer reading program, including operation of the library’s pop-up bookmobile. Assists other Youth Services staff members, interacts with library patrons to provide information, assists patrons in locating materials, works with and monitors volunteer activities.

This is an internship which is not a permanent position and is being made available to individuals seeking work experience prior to graduating from an accredited college/university. Ideal candidates will work from date of hire through Mid-August 2026.

Must be a current undergraduate student in elementary education, library science, drama, art, music or related field, and have completed at least one year of coursework or equivalent work experience.

Current graduate students enrolled in a library science program will be considered.

For all candidates, continued college education must follow completion of internship.

Must be outgoing, flexible and enjoy working with children (pre-K – 6th grade) and teens. 

Must have a good driving record.
